We arrived back home in Dallas after 4 productive days in Houston at MD Anderson. There, we met with our team of doctors, did lots of blood work, a more comprehensive CT scan, plus had meetings with Integrated Medicine and Genetic Counseling. We were all impressed with the level of care we received and feel more confident than ever that we have an outstanding team to help beat this alien within!
Thursday we met with the doctor to review the results of Michele’s updated CT scan. The good news (a big win!) is that the cancer had not spread beyond the pancreas and liver to the lungs or any other organs, as is often the case with pancreatic cancer. However, there are more cancer cells in the liver than were originally detected. But the liver is a tough, regenerative organ which will allow us to be aggressive with treatment.
After lengthy discussions with the doctor and Team Michele, we have honed in on a list of clinical trials available here in Dallas that Michele might qualify for. We have an appointment at UT Southwestern on Tuesday to see if Michele can get into one of their trials. There are a few other clinical trial options we are exploring, but regardless, we want to start chemotherapy as soon as possible next week.
Additionally, there is a lot of amazing work being done with genetics and pancreatic cancer. We have to wait a few weeks for the genetic test results but if determined to be genetic, that might qualify Michele for additional, even more targeted clinical trials.
Word had spread throughout MD Anderson how healthy Michele has been and still is, which will allow us to be aggressive with treatment.
Now that Michele’s hair has finally stopped frizzing from the Houston humidity, we are home resting and getting ready for next week. Thank you for all your thoughts, prayers, flowers, and even trees! We have rallied the troops, developed our preliminary strategy and will now get ready to attack!
Together, we can accomplish anything. #BeatPC

Michele and Scott, you look just great (in Hermann Park?); Michele appears “lean and mean” and ready to fight! It was especially good to hear such encouraging news from your treatment team . . . And we know how happy you were to be in the tender loving care of Scott and your very attentive son, Zach, while in Houston. You are a lucky girl to be surrounded by your 3 soaring pillars – your own personal “DREAM TEAM” – Scott, Zach, and Bradley + a bit of sunshine from Kevyn.
Please let me know when you are up for a visit . . . We could have a greens and avocado “green tea party”. And maybe I could give the guys a break and do some juicing for you . . .
Have someone call me when you are ready, okay? Ann-Marie -

This really fits for you Michele
Tears are Good
What flows is alive
Crying is like a thunderstorm for the sole.
The air feels so wonderful after the rain
Don’t think about it –Breath–
Don’t be harsh or demanding on yourself.
Just experience your feelings and know that your tears are announcing change in your life.
Change is coming, like a summer rain to wash away your pain.
Have faith that things are going to get better.
Hugs and much love
